Overview

The DB2 9.7 Academic Training prepares you to pass IBM Certification Test 302a which will enable you to become an IBM Certified DB2 Academic Associate. This updated version of the CE302 course includes improvements and additional training resources.

The course materials cover relational database fundamentals, as well as SQL, DBA tasks, the Eclipse IDE (Data Studio), DB2 pureXML and database programming interfaces. Students will try out their knowledge with hands-on labs using IBM’s database product, DB2 9.7 for Linux, UNIX and Windows. The course is approximately 20 hours of course content.

Target audience

This course is for third or fourth year undergraduate computer science or computer engineering students who have taken (or are concurrently taking) a relational database course. Instructors who teach the course can also take this course and the certification exam.

Lab exercises
Participants try out their knowledge with hands-on labs using DB2 9.7 on Linux - the IBM world-class database product. Lab setup is easy with the pre-installed and configured Linux virtual image that is provided.

Hands-on lab exercises are integrated into the course and are critical to successful completion of the course and certification exam.
